JUNE PROJECT OF THE MONTH NORTH SEA COAST – Please note, this is a pattern download/printable and not a physical item.

A simple needle felting pattern to help you create your own needle felted picture. Video tutorial will be available on the 24th May.

I have chosen North Sea Coast as I was brought up in Yorkshire just 12 miles from the coast. My dad was a Hull lad who often returned to his favourite city and he loved to watch the boats from the old fish docks. No tropical blue waters here but a sea full of character and attitude.

• An inspiring needle felting pattern for beginners and beyond that makes this wonderfully addictive craft accessible to all ages and abilities.
• Step by step, full colour photographs (not sketches) and easy to follow instructions

See description for materials list which is also included with your download – a great project to use up any scraps of wool and fibres you have in your craft box.

IMPORTANT: When it comes to pattern access I would advise you to create an account when you order. That way you will always have access to your downloads via your account. I can always send them manually if you send me a message, but it it will save a lot of time when you can’t remember where/how you saved them.
Always check for my emails and add me to your address book (or move me to your inbox) so I don’t end up in the bin again; it smells in there 🤢

What materials do I need?

  • A selection of needle felting wool (anything goes) in light browns, blues, white and greens. Scraps of felting wool are perfect for pictures.
  • A piece of thin backing felt/pre-felt as the base of your picture. Mine is 9.5” x 8” but any size will do. The bigger the picture the more wool you will need.
  • Felting mat; foam, or a rice filled hessian bag.
  • Felt topper to protect the mat. This is optional but it will significantly extend the life of your felting mat.
  • Medium felting needle or, if you are working in numbers, a 36 or a 38. Use two together to speed up the process. A mult-tool is useful but not necessary.
  • Any fabric fibres, wool locks, bead embellishments you may want to add. Also optional, but you can have a lot of fun with them.
